Twenty years ago, Lure Fishbar was only a couple of years old, and Eater was about a year old. We were both in our early days. Eater’s founders, Lockhart Steele and Ben Leventhal, and their good friend William Tigertt, who owned Freemans, were high-frequency regulars. They were all part of the creation and culture of restaurants and media at that time. And we love the name of the column too. The burger in this article, ordered “Lure Style,” is still a popular item today. So is our Bash Burger, which has its own following (six-time New York Wine & Food Festival Burger Bash winner).
