Where the cracks become constellations. #金継ぎ For the past 11 years, these sushi serving stands and cups have been part of Masayoshi — supporting our sushi service every single day since we opened. Kintsugi is the centuries-old Japanese art of repairing broken ceramics with gold. Rather than concealing a fracture, it illuminates it: each golden seam becomes a record of use, care, and time. Rooted in the philosophy of wabi-sabi, kintsugi finds beauty not in perfection, but in imperfection, age, and renewal. When these pieces become chipped or damaged, they are carefully restored by local kintsugi artist @kintsugi_tsugiko Her work is slow and exacting — each repair shaped and finished by hand, then brought to life with pure 24K gold. Through years of restoration, each piece has developed its own character. No two repairs are alike; every line of gold traces a moment in Masayoshi's history — a busy service, a quiet evening, a vessel that has carried our sushi from the counter to the table, again and again.
